1966 Porsche 911

Aga Blue.

This 1966 911 was special ordered from P.C. Import Northbrook California by Emery M. Ford of Grosse Point Michigan. The color is Aga Blau 6608 B, first used in 1966 and is rare and desirable. The car was ordered with a Wabasto gas heater, seat belts, black interior, day/ night review mirror, visors with vanity mirror, clock, Wood steering wheel, Tri -band Blaupunkt radio, speakers and antenna .  Mr. Emery M. Ford was from the Wyandotte Chemical family, not the Ford Automotive family, however he did marry Anne Fisher from the Body by Fischer family.   The family lived in one of the grand Mansions in Grosse Point and was designed by a well-known architect.  I spoke to Mr. Ford’s stepson, Christopher Benkert,  who said his stepfather was a Porsche enthusiast and sold this car in 1982 and later bought a 928S.  The 2nd owner put in a 1973 911 E 2.4 liter engine.  The 3rd owner bought the car in 1986, drove it a couple summers got married, had had a family and put it away for about 10 years, and then put back on the road in 1994.  He feels the mileage is correct.

The engine turns over and has good compression readings for an engine sitting for 25 years.  The car will be sold with a set of Weber Carbs for the enthusiast who may be interested forgoing the expense of rebuilding a CIS injection system.  The trans is the original matching 902/1 5 speed.  There are 5 date correct wheels, a partial tool kit with the correct early ribbed bag, a few receipts from previous owner, and a repair manual.

Early SWB cars with lots of originality a rare Aga Blue are impossible to find. This would be a great old Porsche to fully restore, or do the rust repairs to the underside , mechanical work, and drive as a survivor/ patina category car.  $49,500.
